IP Blocking
What's IP blocking and what does it mean for website visitors? When is it handy?
If you notice a considerable increase in the traffic to your website and if after you check the visitor stats it turns out that it comes from countries all over the world or from other servers, your site is probably being attacked by an automatic bot. These pieces of software go through random sites attempting to log in to their admin area by using a brute-force attack or to leave spam comments below any sort of article where this type of an option is made available. However, that is something quite frequent lately, but if you know the IP addresses from which the attacks come, you'll be able to block them, so the bots will not be able to access your Internet site in any way. Obviously, you can block IPs even if you allow only people from specific countries to access your site.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting
Our IP Blocking tool comes with the innovative Hepsia hosting CP, offered with all
cloud hosting accounts. It will enable you to block addresses with simply a couple of mouse clicks. No coding abilities are necessary, as you'll use an intuitive interface - you just need to select a domain or a subdomain from a drop-down menu and enter the IP address that you would like to be blocked. You shall be able to see all the IP addresses that you have added within the exact same section and whitelisting each of them will take only a mouse click. If you notice your site is being flooded by various IPs, you shall be able to block a whole IP range too. This can be completed by omitting the last number of the address. For instance, if you want to block all 254 addresses from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255, you only have to type in 1.1.1. and leave the last spot blank .

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, offered with our
Linux semi-dedicated hosting, will enable you to solve the issue with unwanted traffic very quickly and easily. It incorporates an IP blocking tool where you could add IP addresses with a couple of clicks. All domains and subdomains that you have in the account will be listed in a drop-down menu, so you only have to pick the one you need and then enter the IP address that needs to be blocked. If you wish to block an entire range, a C-class network for example, you just have to enter the first three octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. This shall block all 254 addresses, so you shall not need to type them manually. As all the IPs that you include in this section will be listed, you may very easily unblock any of them by clicking the Delete button associated with the given IP.
